Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 31, 2026
Beavy Technologies Inc. (“Beavy”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data while Beavy is in its early‑access and waitlist phase.
Beavy is a platform that connects buyers with independent food creators. Beavy is not a seller, not a delivery service, and not a payment intermediary. Our data practices are designed to be privacy‑first and aligned with Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Information We Collect
We collect the following information when you join our waitlist, express interest as a seller or buyer, or contact us:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number (optional)
- Website or social links (optional)
- Province and city or general location
- Role or interest (e.g., buyer, seller, both)
- Any message or information you choose to submit
We may also collect publicly available business information for the purpose of creating unclaimed directory listings. This information is not treated as personal information unless it is associated with an identifiable individual.
We may also collect limited technical information, such as browser type, device type, IP address, and basic usage data, primarily for security, performance, and aggregated analytics if enabled.
During early access, all personal information is handled directly by authorized Beavy personnel in their operational roles, which may include the founder. No employees or contractors have access to your data unless explicitly stated in this Policy or required for a specific service relationship.
Mobile App Permissions: When using the Beavy mobile app, we may request access to device features such as notifications, camera, or location, but only when required for specific functionality and only with your explicit consent. You may revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings.
Information We Collect
Beavy may collect publicly available business information to create basic directory listings. This may include a business name, city, province, public website links, social media links, and general descriptions that are already publicly accessible.
This information is used to create Unclaimed Listings, which business owners may claim at any time. Publicly sourced listings do not include private or sensitive information.
If you are the owner of an unclaimed listing, you may request updates, corrections, or removal by contacting admin@beavy.ca.
Storefront Data collection (Founders Circle)
If you join the Founders Circle or request storefront setup during early access, you may choose to provide additional content that helps us prepare your creator profile and storefront. This may include:
- Food photos or product images you submit
- Your creator story, bio, or background
- Descriptions of items you plan to offer
- Any optional details you choose to share to help us build your storefront
You retain full ownership of all content you provide. By submitting this content, you grant Beavy permission to use it solely for the purpose of preparing, designing, or improving your storefront, and for showcasing your products within the Beavy platform once it becomes available.
During early access, storefront setup is performed manually by authorized Beavy personnel, which may include the founder. Your content is not shared with other creators, buyers, or third parties except as required to operate the platform or as described in this Policy.
Participation in the Founders Circle is optional. You may request updates or deletion of your submitted content at any time by contacting admin@beavy.ca.
How We Use Your Information
When a creator claims their listing, we may request additional information to verify identity and confirm ownership of the business profile. This may include basic identification details or links that demonstrate control of the business.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
- To contact you about early access, onboarding, and your waitlist status
- To support participation in the Founders Circle program
- To set up or prepare your storefront if you choose to provide content
- To send updates about Beavy’s development, new features, and launch
- To respond to your messages and support requests
- To understand interest in Beavy across regions and creator types
- To improve our product, onboarding, and early‑access experience
- To maintain security, prevent misuse, and detect abuse
- To verify your identity when you claim a listing
- To manage unclaimed listings created from public information
- To prevent fraudulent or unauthorized claims of business profiles
Email Communication Consent
By joining the waitlist or expressing interest in Beavy, you consent to receiving early access updates, product announcements, onboarding information, and occasional feedback or research invitations. You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send or by contacting us directly.
Sharing Your Information
We may share your information only with:
- Publicly sourced directory listings may remain published until the business owner updates, claims, or requests removal. Identity verification information is retained only as long as necessary to confirm ownership and prevent fraudulent claims.
- Service providers - such as email delivery, hosting, infrastructure, and analytics tools that help us operate Beavy. These providers are only permitted to use your information to perform services on our behalf.
- Legal authorities - if required by applicable law, regulation, court order, or to protect our legal rights or the safety of others.
We do not share your personal information with buyers, sellers, or other marketplace participants for their own marketing purposes. During the waitlist phase, Beavy does not facilitate direct user‑to‑user messaging or transactions.
Children’s Privacy
Beavy is not designed for young children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 16. Because we cannot determine a user’s age unless it is disclosed to us, we rely on users and guardians to ensure appropriate use of the platform. If we become aware that personal information was submitted by someone under 16, we will remove it promptly.
Data Storage & Security
Your information is stored using industry‑standard security measures. While no system is perfectly secure, we take reasonable steps to protect your data against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.
Where possible, data is stored in Canada or in jurisdictions with comparable protections. Access to stored data is restricted solely by authorized Beavy personnel in their operational roles, which may include the founder. As Beavy grows, additional access controls, internal policies, and role‑based permissions will be introduced.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by law. This typically includes the duration of the waitlist and early‑access period, plus a reasonable period for record‑keeping and compliance.
If you request deletion of your data, we will remove or anonymize your personal information, subject to any legal obligations that require us to retain certain records.
Your Rights (Canada – PIPEDA)
Under Canadian privacy law, including PIPEDA, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal requirements
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
- Request correction or removal of publicly sourced directory information associated with your business
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at admin@beavy.ca. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.
Cookies & Tracking Technologies
Beavy uses only minimal, essential, and privacy‑respecting cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, cross‑site tracking, profiling technologies, or any form of sensitive data collection.
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Microsoft Clarity to help us understand how visitors use our website and to improve performance, usability, and security. These tools may use basic analytics cookies to collect aggregated, non‑personal information such as page views, device type, and general interaction data. These cookies do not identify individuals and do not track users across other websites.
Google Tag Manager (GTM) is used to load and manage scripts on our website. GTM does not set cookies or collect personal information.
Because Beavy operates exclusively in Canada and does not use advertising or profiling technologies, a cookie banner is not required under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA). You may manage or disable cookies through your browser settings at any time.
For more details, please review our Cookie Policy.
Account & Data Deletion
You may request a portable copy of your personal information in a commonly used format.
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information at any time by contacting admin@beavy.ca. Once your data is deleted, it cannot be recovered.
We may retain limited information where required by law, for security, or for legitimate business purposes such as preventing abuse or maintaining necessary records.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Beavy evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. As Beavy transitions from waitlist to full platform launch, additional privacy practices will be introduced and reflected in updated versions of this Policy.
If changes are material, we may provide additional notice, such as by email or in‑app messaging, where appropriate.
As Beavy introduces directory features, identity verification, and creator storefronts, additional data practices may be added and reflected in updated versions of this Policy.
